Herend China on a Wedding Registry
Written by Tamar Medzadourian, Paris Tableware, Ridgewood, New Jersey. Updated .
Herend suits a wedding registry because every piece is sold on its own: guests can give one dinner plate or one cup, and the couple can finish the service in later years. Golden Edge is the usual starting point. Shop Local's leaderboard for July 2026, quoted in the Paris Tableware registry guide, put Herend second among US wedding registry brands and counted the Herend Golden Edge Dinner Plate among the five most-registered products in the country.

Three ways to register for Herend at Paris Tableware
- Online. Create a free account at paristableware.com, tap the heart on each Herend piece you want, choosing the color or motif first, and the piece is saved to your Wishlist/Registry. Share that list with guests from the heart icon at the top of the store. On request, the store also sets up a short web address for your invitations.
- In person. Give the store your names, wedding date and patterns by phone at (201) 652-4233, by email at info@paristableware.com or in the Ridgewood shop. It keeps the list for you and records each gift so nothing arrives twice.
- Through another registry. If your list lives on Zola, The Knot, Joy or MyRegistry, use its option for gifts from outside stores and paste in the web address of the Herend piece at paristableware.com. Guests who choose it check out with Paris Tableware.
The details are on the store's wedding registry page.
A Herend registry list that works
List five-piece place settings as single pieces, so each guest can choose a gift at a price that suits them and every gift is useful on its own.
| Piece | For 8 settings | For 12 settings |
|---|---|---|
| Dinner plate | 8 | 12 |
| Salad plate | 8 | 12 |
| Bread and butter plate | 8 | 12 |
| Tea cup | 8 | 12 |
| Tea saucer | 8 | 12 |
| Platter, round serving bowl, teapot, creamer, covered sugar | 1 each | 1 each, or 2 bowls |
At Paris Tableware some cups and saucers are separate listings, so check the item number and add both when needed. Sizes for every piece are in our guide to setting a Herend table.
Choosing a Herend pattern together
- Can't agree yet? Register Golden Edge for the plates and add a painted pattern later for salad plates and cups.
- One of you loves color, the other loves white? Princess Victoria puts color only at the rim, in nine shades.
- You want a conversation piece? Rothschild Bird gives every guest a different bird scene.
- You have a favorite color? Chinese Bouquet comes in green, blue, raspberry, rust, black, black sapphire and multicolor.
- You want the most formal table? Queen Victoria is painted edge to edge.

Herend wedding gifts without a registry
When there is no list to follow, a single Golden Edge place setting, a pair of mugs in the couple's colors or a teapot makes a gift they can build on. Four Herend Rothschild Bird Coaster pieces in four different motifs make a smaller one. Typing the couple's address at checkout sends the gift straight to them. Delivery covers the 48 contiguous states and D.C., at no charge above $150; shipping and returns has the details.
Common questions
How many Herend place settings should we register for?
Eight settings suit couples who host dinner parties; twelve suit couples who expect to host holidays for both families. Each five-piece setting is a dinner, salad and bread and butter plate, a tea cup and a saucer.
Can guests buy just one Herend piece?
Yes. Herend is sold piece by piece at Paris Tableware, so a guest can give a single plate or cup and the couple can complete the service later.
Can we register for Herend in person?
Yes. Give Paris Tableware your names, wedding date and patterns by phone at (201) 652-4233, by email or in the Ridgewood store, and the store keeps the list and records each gift.
Can a Herend gift go straight to the couple?
Yes. Use their address as the shipping address at checkout. Paris Tableware delivers to the lower 48 states and D.C., with no shipping charge above $150.
